New requirements to the foodstuffs labelling

Lyudmila Patreva

Abstract

The article represents the analysis of the new draft law, which is proposed to regulate the procedure for labelling of the foodstuffs in Ukraine,. It was found that the bill offers an exhaustive list of information that must be indicated on a label or package without fail. The implementation of the draft law will provide an opportunity to create an effective mechanism for informing consumers about foodstuffs or ingredients, their composition, nutritional value, methods of consumption, it will also give an opportunity to reduce the charge of market operators by systematizing the requirements to information about foodstuffs in one law harmonized with European Union legislation.
