The influence of the technology of preparing cows for milking on installations such as "Carousel" and "Parallel" on the milk yield process

O. Galay M. Lutsenko

Abstract

Studies conducted to assess the impact of the technology for preparing cows for milking on these types of plants have established that the total time for preparing cows for milking at a Carousel installation (17.4 s) is not sufficient to fully implement the milk transfer reflex; as evidenced by the intensity of milk removal in the first minute of milking, which is at the level of 1.93 kg / min versus 3.75 kg / min at the installation of the “Parallel” type. In the first three minutes of milking, milk yield on a parallel unit is 8.46 kg versus 7.11 kg on a Carousel plant. The high intensity of the realization of the milk reflex of milk production at the installation of the “Parallel” type ensures the production of high fat milk (4.0% versus 3.6%). It has been established that both types of milking plants provide extremely high-quality milk, both for bacterial insemination and for the number of somatic cells, which belongs to the "extra" brand. The technology of preparing cows for milking in a "Carousel" installation needs to be adjusted.
